About
Anna Berthelsen.
A slow practice by the sea.

Anna Berthelsen is a Swedish-born artist, based on the southern coast of Norway, in Kristiansand.
She holds a Bachelor of Design/Arts from the University of Borås in Sweden, and from Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen, Scotland. She is a member of the Norwegian Visual Artists.
Her work is held in the permanent collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
In 2010, she created an installation of 700 bark boats — made together with children in local kindergartens. It was shown at the Tall Ships Races in Kristiansand, and seen by more than 400,000 people.
She is also the artist behind Slow Bridge — a permanent installation beneath a bridge in Kristiansand, made from over 5,300 mirror tiles collected from local children. Each one carries a dream, a thought, a wish.
Anna's practice is guided by a slow philosophy: slow living, slow time, slow life. Being present. Working with what the sea and the shore offer — in small editions, by hand.
